This school taught me the way we all should live life. It is a warm and friendly enviorment and life changes but the memories which this school gave me will keep with me forever. The teachers were thier as an extention to my family with Miss Turner as the woman who held us all together a headmistress who gave her all to the school in turn we gave her our all. Thank you to all the friends and teachers who helped me grow into the person i am to day but especially Miss Turner who taught me about truth and friendship and that life is what you make of it.

Wow! I was a pupil back until 95, now finishing GCSE's and on to college. I remember jamming my little finger in the front door, and rushing off to the hospital. I am so glad to hear the school is staying; I will support anything that keeps it open. Regards to Ms. Turner and the carrot lady (can't remember your name, sorry). Best wishes and good luck to all past, present and future pupils/teachers, you are part of something special. Frank Sullivan

If I remember I used to be at St Niks early to Mid 70's. ?It feels like a life time ago!? wait a minute it is Argggghhhhh!

Anyway now living and working in Devon it?s a bit far for me to come and lie down in front of any metaphorical or otherwise bulldozer, however I am more than happy to sign anything to keep such a school as St Niks school as is/was.

Whilst I am here I think at the back of the hall on the window shelf there should be a jam jar with blotting paper and a few broad beans in could Ms Turner have a look for me and tell me if they have actually grown as I never got to take mine home as I had croup and was off.

Sorry for the mess I caused, Sorry for all the loo rolls in art used in making binoculars for playtime.

The lessons where good, the lunches where dreadful, but all in all I can read, write and I have a job doing statistics so I did get a grip on my maths in the end after never quite getting to finish the maths book Beta1 or 2.

I am so glad to hear the school is staying open, I had a great time when I attended the school myself and hope to send my new daughter when she is of age. Great to see that Miss. Turner is still there!

I attended the school from 1988 to 1994 and I loved it and have got great memories. It feels like yesterday since I left, and I still wander past and recall all the great times we had! We had so many great opportunities and experiences, and wonderful teachers, and I wonder if they remember us still?? It really would be a great shame to close the school, and anyone who has attended or I'm sure sent their children there would only know too well what a gem of a school it is! My support goes out to the school!

As an ex pupil ( 1960 to 1966) I was saddend to learn from my Mother, who still lives in Hull, that St Nicks was to close. I have many fond memories of my time there. My Mother tells me that the school is doing particularily well and has an excellent reputation in the area. From the pictures on the site it looks like it has changed a little in the last 39 years! I will certainly write to the people you suggest.

Both myself & my sister attended St Nicholas, we both have nothing but fond memories
of the school & staff. It would be a real shame to lose a school like this. Future generations need to benifit from the close, warm & friendly atmoshpere at St Nicholas.
Sense must be seen, KEEP ST NICHOLAS OPEN. Best of luck to all Staff, Pupils & Parents.

I was at the school from about 1952 to 58 my two favourite teachers were The Head Miss Gray and My first teacher Mrs Ford. I often wonder what it like, in my day we had 4 rooms off the mail hall and a room behind the stage to the right.
I was sorry to hear that in might be closing. I hope you don't.
Charlie.

Both me and my sister Kirsty used to attended this school over 10 years ago now. But we both will never forget the times we shared their it like having an extented family. The teachers where very friendly and helpful and Miss Turner was and is the best headteacher any child could have. It would be a great shame that future children would not get to experience the best start in school life. I would hope that my own son now two would go to this primary school as i know that he would enjoy his time as much as i did. I hope from the bottom of my heart that people listen to those who have been to this school, the teachers past and present and parents and decide not to close this school and let other children have the best start into school life as i did.

I loved St Nicholas too, I left in 1986 (Miss Turner was the headmistress then too!) and I loved it so much that I now make my son go there (hello Jake) and am a parent governor.

God it's strange looking at the website, I left in 1997 and looking at the staff list to see more than few familiar names is nice to see. Will have to pop by and see how they are going, that leavers barbecue seems like yesterday!
