Hi, I was a student here from 1992-1999. The years I attended St.Nicholas where the best years of my life! I could not ask for a better school! I still laugh and joke with other ex pupils about the memories we share. St Nicholas not only taught you to read and write but to learn many other valuable lessons! I mean , which schools ship you off to Bridlington dressed as young evacuees or spend a whole week living as victorians?

Wow...I left St. Nicks in 2008, and I miss it sooo much. If offered, I would definitely come back...I really miss sport with Mr Boston...and Mrs Orr, I miss you so much! I f anyone does remember me, my e-mail address is displayed, and even any teachers, don't hesitate to get in touch! I'll definitely come back and visit, and I'm sure you'll be glad to know that I still keep in touch with Chloe, Warren, Danielle and Shelby, but I miss everyone else. I'm doing well at NSG, but I'd rather be singing cheesy hyms with Mrs Orr any day...

This school taught me the way we all should live life. It is a warm and friendly enviorment and life changes but the memories which this school gave me will keep with me forever. The teachers were thier as an extention to my family with Miss Turner as the woman who held us all together a headmistress who gave her all to the school in turn we gave her our all. Thank you to all the friends and teachers who helped me grow into the person i am to day but especially Miss Turner who taught me about truth and friendship and that life is what you make of it.

Wow! I was a pupil back until 95, now finishing GCSE's and on to college. I remember jamming my little finger in the front door, and rushing off to the hospital. I am so glad to hear the school is staying; I will support anything that keeps it open. Regards to Ms. Turner and the carrot lady (can't remember your name, sorry). Best wishes and good luck to all past, present and future pupils/teachers, you are part of something special. Frank Sullivan

So glad to hear St Nicholas is still going strong, was a wonderful starting block for my future years in education and is remebered fondly. Hello to Miss Turner, I was there in the late 70's. Would love to come and visit one day when my two children are not at school - now living in leeds
| Simon Cooper | 09 December 2005 00:00:00 |
I am so glad to hear the school is staying open, I had a great time when I attended the school myself and hope to send my new daughter when she is of age. Great to see that Miss. Turner is still there!
| Sarah Didsbury | 08 December 2005 00:00:00 |
I attended the school from 1988 to 1994 and I loved it and have got great memories. It feels like yesterday since I left, and I still wander past and recall all the great times we had! We had so many great opportunities and experiences, and wonderful teachers, and I wonder if they remember us still?? It really would be a great shame to close the school, and anyone who has attended or I'm sure sent their children there would only know too well what a gem of a school it is! My support goes out to the school!
| Andrew Prince | 02 December 2005 00:00:00 |
As an ex pupil ( 1960 to 1966) I was saddend to learn from my Mother, who still lives in Hull, that St Nicks was to close. I have many fond memories of my time there. My Mother tells me that the school is doing particularily well and has an excellent reputation in the area. From the pictures on the site it looks like it has changed a little in the last 39 years! I will certainly write to the people you suggest.
| Helen Kerridge | 02 December 2005 00:00:00 |
They can't close St Nicholas. It's the best primary school ever.
| Chris Wiles | 02 December 2005 00:00:00 |
Both myself & my sister attended St Nicholas, we both have nothing but fond memories
| Charles Cartwright | 01 December 2005 00:00:00 |
I was at the school from about 1952 to 58 my two favourite teachers were The Head Miss Gray and My first teacher Mrs Ford. I often wonder what it like, in my day we had 4 rooms off the mail hall and a room behind the stage to the right.
| Nicola Hinchsliff | 01 December 2005 00:00:00 |
Both me and my sister Kirsty used to attended this school over 10 years ago now. But we both will never forget the times we shared their it like having an extented family. The teachers where very friendly and helpful and Miss Turner was and is the best headteacher any child could have. It would be a great shame that future children would not get to experience the best start in school life. I would hope that my own son now two would go to this primary school as i know that he would enjoy his time as much as i did. I hope from the bottom of my heart that people listen to those who have been to this school, the teachers past and present and parents and decide not to close this school and let other children have the best start into school life as i did.
| Frances Hodgson (Armstrong) | 01 December 2005 00:00:00 |
I loved St Nicholas too, I left in 1986 (Miss Turner was the headmistress then too!) and I loved it so much that I now make my son go there (hello Jake) and am a parent governor.
